    Absolutely an amazing place. From the moment you step off the boat, you are greeted by Sisi and the rest of the staff. Being a small private resort, they focus on remembering your name and making you feel right at home. My wife and another couple stayed 1wk here and had one of the best trips ever.     Everything about our visit was special. We expected to be treated like family by the wonderful Fijians because of our previous trips there. But they seemed even a bit more friendly and personable if that's possible. What we appreciated most was the smallness of the resort, which meant a lot of lone time, uncrowded excursions (especially the free twice-daily snorkelling trips) , and getting to know the other travellers. We also thought that their food was the best that we've ever had at a resort. The Fijians will leave a lasting impression on us. - Steve M

    Totally worth the travel! The staff is very attentive, the beds are clean and comfortable with turn down service, and the food is great .     Wonderful, private small resort with very personalized service. The staff is serene, welcoming and inspires a familial atmosphere. Enjoyed the personalized help in scuba diving and snorkelling. Our guide even had an underwater white board to point out the sea life we were seeing. The meals & cocktails were delicious. Best of all may have been having laundry done!       Terms and Conditions: Our Romance Package price is per couple excluding tax. For a seamless experience, we encourage you to pre-book all package inclusions before your arrival. If you have a specific day in mind for your Horseshoe Bay picnic, we recommend informing us in advance so we can reserve it for you. There is a morning and an afternoon picnic. Our morning picnic is from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm and includes a packed lunch and bottle of house wine delivered to Horseshoe Bay around noon. Our afternoon picnic is from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm and includes a fruit and cheese platter and a bottle of house wine. If you wish to have your private candlelit dinner on a particular night to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary, our chefs would be happy to bake you a cake. Advance notice is required. Unused package inclusions are not refundable and cannot be transferred or substituted for other activities, tours, spa treatments, or services. Matangi Island Resort reserves the right to amend prices due to events beyond its control that may increase pricing.

      Certified Scuba Diving Packages

      Explore the depths with our tailored dive packages, featuring 2-morning dives per day over 3 or 5 days, designed exclusively for certified scuba enthusiasts.


      • 3 days/6 tanks USD$400 per diver, gear hire and tax excluded
      • 5 days/10 tanks USD$650 per diver, gear hire and tax excluded

      Our daily dive programme includes two dives in the morning, with the dive boat departing Matangi Island after breakfast. A surface interval is done between the dives, either on the dive boat or a deserted beach, before returning to the resort for lunch. Day dive trips to the more remote Somosomo Straits can be arranged with a minimum of four divers. Due to the additional travel required, a fuel surcharge applies in addition to the daily two-tank rate. The option to do a third dive is included at no extra charge. Complimentary shore diving is available to certified scuba divers who prepay our dive packages.

      Terms and Conditions: Our prepaid dive package prices are per diver, excluding gear hire, night diving, and the Somosomoo Strait day dive trip surcharge. To ensure the best dive experience, dive sites are selected according to daily tidal movements, prevailing weather conditions and the diver's skill level. Nitrox is not available at Matangi Island. Scuba diving is available to certified scuba divers only. Due to Fiji's remoteness, dive insurance, including emergency medical evacuation, is recommended as a precautionary measure. Unused package inclusions are not refundable and cannot be transferred or substituted for the Somosomo Strait day dive trip surcharge, night diving, scuba gear hire, other activities, tours, spa treatments, or services. Matangi Island Resort reserves the right to amend prices due to events beyond its control that may increase pricing.
