Our team of local chefs meticulously blends fresh tropical Fijian ingredients such as tapioca, taro, breadfruit, Fijian spinach, coconut, fresh fish, and seafood to craft authentic and flavorful dishes. Additionally, we offer a weekly traditional Fijian feast known as a lovo, where food is cooked underground in an earth oven.

    I don't generally leave reviews but felt compelled to do so in this case. Matangi is simply a paradise. Probably the best place I have ever stayed in the world. The staff are fantastic, the setting is divine, the food is delicious, the cocktails are perfect, the many experiences are all top drawer.     Everything about our visit was special. We expected to be treated like family by the wonderful Fijians because of our previous trips there. But they seemed even a bit more friendly and personable if that's possible. What we appreciated most was the smallness of the resort, which meant a lot of lone time, uncrowded excursions (especially the free twice-daily snorkelling trips) , and getting to know the other travellers. We also thought that their food was the best that we've ever had at a resort. The Fijians will leave a lasting impression on us. - Steve M

    Wonderful, private small resort with very personalized service. The staff is serene, welcoming and inspires a familial atmosphere. Enjoyed the personalized help in scuba diving and snorkelling. Our guide even had an underwater white board to point out the sea life we were seeing. The meals & cocktails were delicious. Best of all may have been having laundry done! The island is beautiful, there are many activities to enjoy, the food and cocktails are fantastic, and the staff provides exceptional hospitality. The small number of guests at a time provides the perfect balance of privacy and a social community around meal times or excursions.       Our gourmet dining combines an array of fresh fish and seafood caught by local fishermen, imported meats, salads, locally grown vegetables, tropical fruit from surrounding gardens, freshly baked bread and sumptuous desserts. Our daily menus are planned using the finest and freshest ingredients available. Our daily menu offers vegetarian options, and special dietary needs are happily catered to. Advance notice is appreciated as it allows us to prepare before your arrival.

      Complementing our Fiji gourmet dining is an extensive selection of world-class Australian and New Zealand wines, French Champagnes, tropical-inspired cocktails, rums, beer, and fine spirits from around the world.

      During your evening meal, our Matangi Serenaders will keep you entertained (except on Sundays) with old South Seas melodies and Fijian favourites. Traditional Fijian dancing, known as a meke, is offered once a week.
