Lavena Coastal Walk, Bouma National Heritage Park, Taveuni Island
If you’re looking for a bit of adventure that’s beyond the usual tourist sights on Taveuni, this 3 mile walk offers beautiful scenery beyond the furtherest village in the Bouma National Park.
This 10km round-trip trail passes through pristine low-lying forest and ends at two stunning waterfalls with inviting rock pools for swimming. The trail runs alongside sandy beaches, unique rocky coastlines, and estuarine mangroves, with several shady picnic spots along the way. Hiking shoes and a bottle of water are essential. Matangi provides a guide, lunch, and refreshments.
The round-trip car and boat transfers cost FJD 350 (approximately USD 160) per person. This charge will be added to your room tab. The Bouma National Park, which manages the Lavena Coastal Walk, charges an entrance fee of FJD 40 (approximately USD 19) per person. Please note that the park accepts only Fijian dollars. It does not accept credit or debit cards, and there are no ATMs or cash-out facilities in the park. Currency exchange is available at Matangi's office.
*Group tours run on Fridays. Private tours on non-scheduled days can be arranged. Additional charges may apply if there are fewer than four people. Prices include Fiji government tax and are subject to change without notice due to events that may affect pricing.
