Certified Scuba Diving

Our daily dive programme for certified scuba divers includes two morning dives after breakfast, with a surface interval either on the dive boat or at a nearby beach. Refreshments, including coffee, tea, water, juice, fruit and cookies, are served during the surface interval.

Our daily 2-tank dive rate is FJD 425 (approximately USD 195) per diver, including tax. Our dive rates include all equipment: wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, BCD, tanks, and dive computer. Nitrox is not available at Matangi Island.

Certified scuba divers who wish to prepay for diving can choose from packages of 3 days/6 tanks, 4 days/8 tanks, or 5 days/10 tanks. Please email us at info@matangiisland.com for pricing and to book in advance of your arrival.

Open Water Certification is the minimum requirement for scuba diving at Matangi Island. As we do not have a resident dive instructor, dive certifications are not available. Divers must be certified and present a dive certification card. Matangi Island is very remote. As a precaution, scuba divers must have appropriate dive insurance that includes emergency medical evacuation.

To ensure the best dive experience, dive sites are selected based on daily tidal movements, prevailing weather conditions, and diver skill level. Snorkellers and non-divers are not permitted on our dive boats while diving.

Day dive trips to the more remote Somosomo Strait, home to the world-famous Rainbow Reef and the Great White Wall, are available, weather permitting, with a minimum of 4 divers. Due to the additional travel required, a fuel surcharge of FJD 350 (approximately USD 160) per diver, including Fiji government tax, applies. A third dive is included at no charge. This is a full-day trip. Refreshments and lunch are provided.
