FAQs – Accommodation
The tap water in your Bure comes from a mountain spring, which is piped across the channel between Matangi and Qamea islands. Rain catchment and UV filtered drinking water is provided in the glass carafes and bottles in your Mini Bar. Bottled FIJI Water is also provided in your Mini Bar, charge applies.
Electrical power in your Bure is 240 volts AC 50 hertz. A 110 AC volt charging console is available at the Activities Bure for charging camera batteries. In keeping with our continuous efforts to keep ‘green’ please switch off all electrical items including lights, fans and the air conditioning unit in your bed when not in use.
Air Conditioning Unit
Your four-poster bed canopy is equipped with a modern low power consumption air conditioning unit. Exclusive to Matangi, this innovative design ensures a cool and comfortable sleep while still allowing windows to be open for you to enjoy the soothing sounds of the tropics and the continuous movement of fresh air throughout your Bure. This new concept allows you to acclimatize to our tropical conditions without increasing your carbon footprint. Please switch off your air conditioning unit when not in use.
A 240-volt AC hair dryer is provided in your bathroom
Your Mini Bar is stocked with bottled FIJI Water!, non-alcoholic beverages, local beer, wine and snacks. All prices of Mini Bar items are in Fiji Dollars and exclude Fiji Government Taxes, and credit card charges. Your Mini Bar is replenished daily.
Tea & Coffee Facilities
A 240-Volt AC electric hot water jug is provided in your Bure as well as French press coffee and tea making facilities. Your coffee, tea, milk and sugar are replenished daily. Enjoy our freshly baked cookies.
Daily Maid Service
Your Housekeeper will service your Bure daily. Should you require anything for your Bure, your Housekeeper would be happy to assist you.
Your bath accessories are from the locally made Pure Fiji range. Made with coconut oils and infused with exotic tropical flowers, these beautiful products embody the essence of the islands.
Sulu is the Fijian word for Sarong. Please enjoy the complimentary Matangi Sulus provided in your Bure. These are a gift from Matangi to you. An instruction sheet on how to wear your Sulu is also provided.
Ceiling fans are provided in your Bure for extra cooling.
Your mosquito net is double lined to contain the cool air provided by the air conditioning unit inside your bed. Your housekeeper will prepare your bed during her evening turn down service.
Fresh towels including beach towels are provided daily. Beach towels are also provided poolside and for all activities including scuba diving, snorkeling, picnics, waterfall excursion etc…
Bath Robes are provided for your use during your stay. Should you wish to take home a Matangi bathrobe as a memento for your Fiji stay, they are available for purchase from our Gift Shops at the Office and Spa.
Complimentary slippers are provided in your Bure.
We offer a daily complimentary laundry service. For clothes that require laundering, please use the laundry bag provided in your Bure. Dry cleaning services are not available on Matangi Island.
Should you require ironing facilities please ask your housekeeper
We would appreciate you locking your Bure when it is vacant. While out on excursions you may leave your key with the Front Office. Please return your Bure key to the Front Office at your checkout. A fee will be applied for keys that are not returned. For assistance with keys, the ladies at Front Office would be happy to help you.
There is a safe in your wardrobe for storing your valuables. The key for your safe is attached to your Bure key.
A flashlight is provided in your Bure to aid you with walking around the Resort at night. Your housekeeper will ensure that the batteries in your flashlight are changed when required.
Sun Lounges & Hammocks
Sun lounges and hammocks are available for your use along the Resort’s beach-frontage. There are also two hanging day beds on the sea wall situated on the Eastern side of the Resort.
An umbrella is provided in your Bure. Umbrellas are also available from our Vale-Ni-Kana Dining Room and Front Office.
Bugs & Spiders
There are no harmful bugs or spiders in Fiji. While every effort is made to keep your Bure bug free in our tropical environment, Mortein and Aerogard are supplied in the event they may be needed.
